Happy Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated my Daddy’s 70th birthday with a
party at my parent’s house. There is something really special about
opening up your home to others, especially since today it seems that the art of entertaining is lost.

Of course, hosting a party is always hard work and something that
can’t be glamorized. There is so much to be done to get the house
ready: Tables set, flower arrangements made, table cloths ironed and
candles lit. No matter how far in advance you plan, there are always
last minute things to be done, and truthfully you have to enjoy the
art form or it will completely overwhelm you.

Good thing I enjoy it! Mother laughed and said that it felt like old
times, since I was out in the garage flower arranging and creating
most of the night and day. Hmmm…..the Prom…..I wonder if I could
find some photos from that monstrosity me and a few friends undertook.

Despite the chance of rain, the party was flawless from the
invitations (Calliespondance), down too the paper napkins my sweet sister-in- law provided, even though she had strep throat. Even the Peonies decided
to make a full performance and bloom to perfection.
